Despite Citrix Systems selling its Fort Lauderdale headquarters, the company will stay put. It’s signed a 12-year lease to stay at its headquarters building at 899 W. Cypress Creek Road in Fort Lauderdale. A&D Mortgage paid $37 million for the building, which is over $20 million less than Citrix originally paid for it. The property last traded for $58.8 million in 2002. First Horizon Bank provided a $29.6 million mortgage to the buyer for the most recent transaction.
The S. Florida Business Journal reports the property, dubbed Uptown Center, as having a 139,547-square-foot office building of nine stories constructed in 2021 and a 136,506-square-foot office building of six stories built in 2001. The site covers 6.45 acres and has 1,048 parking spaces, including 855 in the parking garage. Amenities include a Citibank branch, conference rooms, a café and a fitness center. Citrix’s lease only covers one of the buildings.
