Shipping company MSC paid $67 million for 131,000 square feet of commercial condo space in Miami’s Overtown neighborhood. The S. Florida Business Journal reports The Swerdlow Group sold Unit R-3 in the mixed-use Block 55 at Sawyer’s Walk project at 249 NW Sixth Street to MSC Group for $511 per square foot. The office is expected to host 250 employees for its affiliates MSC Cruises, MSC Cargo, and Explora Journeys.
Alan Kleber, Tyler Reynolds, Scott Quick and Diego Rodino of Cushman & Wakefield represented the buyer in the transaction.
Totaling 1.4 million square feet, Block 55 at Sawyer’s Walk also has 578 apartments, a 1,000-space parking garage and 175,000 square feet of retail. The tenants include Target, Aldi, Ross Dress for Less, Five Below, Burlington and Tropical Smoothie Café.
