Miami-Dade County Leasing Land for $141M Cold Storage Facility

A South Florida developer hopes to get approval from Miami-Dade County to build a $141 million cold chain processing plant on county land. The Mandich Group hopes to build the facility on 14.61 acres at 7333, 7445, and 7449 N.W. 12 St. in Miami, just south of Miami International Airport. The facility will be 262,896 square feet in size and would be branded Cold-Link.

The S. Florida Business Journal reports that the project would help ensure the safe flow of agricultural and food products entering and exiting Miami International Airport and PortMiami and ensure that those products are free of pests and diseases.

The county is projected to earn $206.81 million in rent and other revenues over the 35-year lease. If Mandich opts to take two five-year options to renew, the estimated revenue flowing toward the county would be $318.3 million over 45 years.

Founded in 2016 by the Mandich Brothers, Cold-Link operates eight refrigerated facilities across the U.S. (Orlando shown)
