A Key Biscayne resort is set to convert hotel rooms to condos. Terra plans to buy the Silver Sands Beach Resorts now that his company has received approval from the City Commission for a 13-story building with 56 condos. The building currently houses 56 rooms in a single-story structure built in 1956. Red Dragon’s Sands is the current resort owner at 301 Ocean Drive. (Photo courtesy Key Biscayne Independent)
The amenities for the condo project would include several restaurants, a spa, a gym, a separate lodge building with a beach bar, and three pools. The roof would also have solar panels.
Most of the condos would range from 3,354 to 4,788 square feet. There would also be a pair of condos on the top floor, each measuring 8,086 square feet and with a rooftop pool.
Terra says the project represents an investment of over $600 million and, upon completion, would support 43 jobs.
