Hollywood developers are hoping to capitalize on the noteworthy Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino by building guitar-themed apartments right across the street.
The Guitar View apartments are slated to have 198 units, with 40% set aside for workforce housing. A Florida state law allows property owners to bypass local zoning if they follow the rules about building affordable housing, which, in this case, allows tenants to apply with up to 120% of the area’s median income.
Nicolas Mendizabal and Eloy Garcia are the site’s applicants. According to the S. Florida Business Journal, the site is a car lot.
The project, totaling 189,087 square feet in 14 stories, would include 6,000 square feet of commercial space and 277 parking spaces. The apartments would start on the fifth floor and feature an amenity deck on the roof with a pool, Jacuzzi, fitness center and spa.
The project is being designed by Luis La Rosa of LLR Architects.
