Padel Park Aventura plans to build padel courts atop the parking garage at 18851 N.E. 29th Ave., where the 10X office building is located. Padel Park Aventura LLC, managed by Virgilio Namnum, has a lease for the space with Cardon Capital.
The S. Florida Business Journal reports Namnum said he became a padel fanatic after his sister married a man from Spain who played the sport all his life, and then they started playing together. However, they found it challenging to find court time in South Florida. Unlike tennis and pickleball, there are few padel facilities at free public parks.
Namnum said Icon Padel Aventura would sell a limited number of memberships with perks, such as preferred booking and parking, and it would be open for the general public to book playing time.
Miami is widely considered the epicenter of the sport in the US. It has a Pro Padel League team that many expect to compete for the title.
