Brightline Adding Stuart Train Station

Brightline has chosen the location for its news Miami-area train station. The private company has chosen a vacant parking lot at 500 Southeast Flagler Avenue in Stuart for the station and a parking lot, both slated to cost $30 million a piece.

Due to the significant economic impact a train station brings to an area, the city of Stuart and Martin County offered to partner with Brightline in the construction of a train station.

The S. Florida Business Journal reports the city and county will likely recoup their costs through grants from state and federal sources.

Owned by New York-based Fortress Investment Group, Brightline has operated train stations in the downtown areas of Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach since 2018. The private train service went on to open additional train stations in Boca Raton, Northeast Miami-Dade just west of Aventura, and Orlando International Airport. Brightline ridership has steadily increased since its launch.
