Affiliated Development has put the pieces together to move forward on a 400-unit workforce-targeted apartment complex in Fort Lauderdale. The company recently spent $15.2 million on a handful of adjacent properties to clear the way to build the Era Apartments.
The plans also call for 3,650 square feet of street-level retail.
Affiliated recently secured approval from Broward County for $5.5 million in workforce housing incentives and from the city of Fort Lauderdale for a 100% rebate of its city property taxes from the development of this apartment complex for 15 years, with no cap on the amount of money.
Under the deal, 5% of the apartments would be for people making up to 80% of area median income (AMI), 10% would be for people making up to 100% of AMI, and 37.5% would be for people making up to 120% of AMI.
