Codina Partners is kicking off a final phase of its original development, but it’s also laying the groundwork for Downtown Doral 2.0. Covering 250 acres, Downtown Doral has more than 10,000 residential units, over 40 restaurants and retails, two charter schools, a government center and health care center by the University of Miami. Codina started the project in 2005.
The S. Florida Business Journal reports the developer said the final phase of Downtown Doral 1.0 would consist of about 25,000 square feet of retail with 13 units for tenants attached to a 929-space parking garage. There would be pickleball courts on the roof of the retail space.
During the construction of the final phase, Codina will knock down four obsolete office buildings totaling 370,000 square feet to free up 25 acres for a still undecided development addition.
